In May 2025, MAB, in partnership with Renewal SA and our remediation contractor, reached a major milestone in finalising soil remediation works on site. This marks a significant step forward building a safe and welcoming environment for residents and the broader community of Adelaide.
Our contractor and expert consultants are now working to complete the certification process to enable the future delivery of the new 6 Star Green Star Community with over 800 new homes including 15% affordable housing upon completion.
Civil works are now the next stage of development at The Gasworks. These works will focus on preparing the site and surrounding streets to support future construction, including essential infrastructure such as roads, services and stormwater systems. This stage is an important step in transforming the site and will help lay the foundations for the delivery of new homes and community spaces in the years ahead.

What civil works are being undertaken?
The first stage will involve site earthworks which will include excavation and compaction works. Later stages will include the installation of stormwater drainage, water mains, sewer, and electrical services along with the roads, footpaths and street lighting.
What are the timelines for civil works?
The first stage of civil works will commence in May 2026 and subject to weather is expected to take several months.
Onsite enabling works have already commenced and include detailed geotechnical testing, along with site coordination with authorities for the incoming services from the surrounding streets.
The community will be kept up to date with status and any changes to this forecast timeline.
Future civil works stages will be undertaken across the remainder of The Gasworks site in a staged approach.
How are environmental impacts (e.g dust, noise) managed?
All civil works carried out by MAB’s contractors will be managed in accordance with environmental control measures. These measures are in place to minimise potential impacts such as noise, dust and disruption, and to ensure the safety and amenity of the surrounding community.
