Alliance fosters local jobs

MAB Corporation’s $80 million Alliance Business Park development at Epping continues to boom with stage two released to market earlier than expected and construction well underway.

MAB General Manager Richard Johnston said since its launch in late 2012, Alliance has gone from strength to strength.

“The response from the market has been impressive” said Mr Johnston. “We are delighted to release the second stage earlier than planned to meet the demand for quality industrial land in Melbourne’s north.

“Alliance will quickly become an employment hub for the corridor, with the completed development expected to generate 4,000 local jobs”

This includes attracting new businesses to the area, as well as supporting the growth of established businesses in the north, such as food manufacturer Edlyn Foods.

“Edlyn Foods has secured a prime lot to expand its operations” said Mr Johnston. “We are thrilled that a locally based business continues to support development in the Whittlesea community”

Edlyn Foods Managing Director Andrew Donelly agrees.

“Our business is doubling in size every five years or so” said Mr Donelly. “Expanding to Alliance will ensure our growth is not impeded by a lack of facilities.

“Epping is the ideal location to base our businesses to tap into the skilled local workforce and for ease of distribution either around Melbourne or interstate”.

Edlyn Foods currently employs approximately 75 staff in Epping.

“Staff are excited that we continue to develop the business and pursue new opportunities in the foodservice industry in what is considered by some as challenging times” said Mr Donelly.

The second release at Alliance comprises 13 lots, ranging in size from 1,100m² to 19,550m². Alliance also has the ability to cater for larger requirements of up to nine hectares. Prices start at $308,000 plus GST.
