Brompton Gasworks Community Update | June 2023

In what marks a significant milestone for the project, we will be preparing the on-site infrastructure necessary for remediation works to commence.

What works will commence in June?
In the coming weeks we will commence the construction of odour control enclosures. The large tent-like structures will allow our contractors to safely start excavating the ground and treating soil, while also reducing odours in the location of the site works. We have provided an example of what the structures will resemble in the images below.

Odour Control Enclosures
The odour control enclosures will vary in scale to meet the requirements of the remediation excavations. They will be approximately 40 to 50 metres in width by 80 to 100 metres in length and up to 20 metres in height with an average of three structures in use at any one time. The odour control enclosures are anticipated to be required for the duration of the remediation works, approximately eighteen months.

How can I find out more?
In partnership with our remediation works contractor – Enviropacific Services, we will be hosting an information session that will provide an overview of the works, site management processes and delivery programme. Please ensure you register your attendance prior to joining the information session as spaces are limited.
