Landmark Twin Towers launched in NewQuay

A landmark $350 million twin tower apartment building is to be built at MAB Corporation%u201Fs (MAB) NewQuay in Docklands.

In a symbolic event for the NewQuay precinct, „The Quays%u201F will be the final high rise apartment building proposed for the east precinct.

‘The Quays’ will feature a podium based twin tower with a striking glass façade offering 600 apartments.

MAB%u201Fs Managing Director, Mr Andrew Buxton said the 100 metre high South Tower, the tallest building in the precinct, would be a powerful architectural statement for NewQuay and the Docklands waterfront.

The South Tower will be 32 storeys tall with 275 apartments. The North Tower comprises 230 apartments and a Podium of 95 apartments.

MAB launched its first residential tower at NewQuay in 1999 and The Quays will bring the total number of apartments in NewQuay to more than 1500.

General Manager, Residential Mr Kevin Hunt said “this is an exclamation mark on a key site and the public response has been very positive with strong interest before its formal launch.”

The opening of the Waterfront Display Suite will coincide with the building being offered to the market on 26 February with construction anticipated to commence late this year.

The Quays is designed by internationally acclaimed architects McBride Charles Ryan as an iconic entry statement into NewQuay.

McBride Charles Ryan Director Debbie Ryan said “The Quays will be two perfectly integrated towers, distinct and immediately identifiable; they will be the new gateway to the NewQuay precinct on the corner of Docklands Drive and Harbour Esplanade.”

The Quays will sit between the Conder and HarbourOne apartment buildings and takes in stunning views across Melbourne City, Victoria Harbour, Port Phillip Bay and surrounds.

The podium of The Quays will provide a vibrant social hub for the residents. The ground floor will include a Health Club with a 25 metre swimming pool, spa, sauna, gymnasium and a yoga studio.

On level one, residents will be able to work, relax and entertain in the Residents%u201F Club with exclusive access to a library, business centre, private dining room and cinema lounge.

The podium will be crowned with an expansive roof top garden adjacent to a tennis court, clubhouse and barbeque facilities.

“This landmark building is a unique opportunity for buyers to secure an apartment, and lifestyle, in the entertainment heart of NewQuay,” Mr Hunt concluded.

Prices for the apartments range from $350,000 for a one bedroom to $1.2 million for a three bedroom, three bathroom apartment with a study and two car spaces.
