Merrifield, Victoria’s largest masterplanned development located in Mickleham, has announced its inaugural Merrifield Community Grants Program. Merrifield Community Development Manager, Tennille Bradley-Ow, said the program is intended to specifically respond to the needs of the emerging local community.
“This is a solid commitment to our community,” said Tennille. “Our recent community survey revealed a range of activities and services that our residents want to see at Merrifield, such as arts and events; education and learning, environmental sustainability and health and wellbeing.
“Submissions must address one of these needs and directly benefit the Merrifield community.”
There are five funding categories available with grants available up to $10,000 for individuals, businesses, community groups and organisations and up to $20,000 for new businesses.
“The category l am most excited about supports new and start-up businesses,” said Tennille. “This is a wonderful opportunity for residents to get the ball rolling with a fantastic business idea.”
Funds can be used for a wide range of items such as small capital works, materials and equipment, marketing costs and staff expenses.
Applications open on 1 August. Applications can be made online at merrifieldmelbourne.com.au or via an application form available from the Merrifield Sales Centre.
