Oakover Road Complete as Preston Crossing Community Comes to Life

In December 2025, we welcomed our final purchaser to the last stage at Oakover Road, marking the completion and full sell-out of the Oakover Road precinct at Preston Crossing. It’s a meaningful milestone for the project, and one that’s especially rewarding as residents now settle in and enjoy their homes, shared spaces and growing sense of community.

Preston Crossing is a masterplanned, nine-stage urban regeneration project delivered across two land parcels in Melbourne’s inner north. Bringing together leading Melbourne architects, the vision has been to create a progressive residential neighbourhood that balances strong design credentials with social diversity, community connection and a healthy living environment.

The four completed stages within the Oakover Road neighbourhood comprise a mix of housing types, including 26 townhouses designed by Archier, 52 Nightingale apartments by Breathe Architecture, and 94 social and affordable apartments designed by Hayball. All homes are connected by a pedestrian-focused public realm and a central community pocket park, helping foster everyday interaction and an active neighbourhood atmosphere.

At MAB, sustainability and responsible development are central to the delivery of Preston Crossing. Each townhouse has achieved Five Star Green Star Design and As-Built certification and carries a minimum 7-Star average NatHERS rating, significantly reducing operational energy use. Homes are fully electric and solar boosted, and when paired with a green power electricity plan, can operate carbon neutral.

With Oakover Road now complete, the project moves into its next phase at the second Preston Crossing site, located just 200 metres west. While this marks the close of the Oakover neighbourhood, there is still an opportunity to be part of the Preston Crossing community, with 3 and 4 bedroom townhouses now selling in the Stokes Penola precinct.
