MAB is proud to be collaborating with Nightingale Housing at Preston Crossing to deliver a new project of sustainable apartments, designed by Breathe Architecture.
Comprising 20 one-bedroom homes, 25 two-bedroom homes, 7 ‘Teilhaus’ apartments, a guest house and one commercial space at ground level, the building is designed in three parts to acknowledge three Preston histories.
At ground floor, carbon-neutral brickwork is a nod to Preston’s residential past. The middle features a precast fluted concrete facade and saw-tooth roofline to reference the remnants of Preston’s industrial past. The building is then split in two creating a ‘green spine’ through the middle for vegetation to grow and to allow fresh air to circulate through the building, representing Preston’s drive for amenity in the way of parks and open spaces.
The Nightingale Preston ballot process was conducted in November 2021, with all homes being allocated at that time.
