MAB Launches Victorian-First to Support First Home Buyers

A Victorian-first is set to benefit Melburnians struggling to get on the property ladder, as developer MAB releases three new residential projects in the city’s inner northern ring with exclusive allocation of homes to first home buyers for eight weeks.

Launching Monday 6 December, first home buyers will be offered a competitive edge at MAB’s three new projects including Academy North Melbourne, Merri Northcote and Preston Crossing, with property hopefuls able to obtain a foothold on the property ladder with a three per cent (or from less than $11,000) deposit on their new home.

For deposits greater than three per cent, purchasers will be entitled to a rebate that reduces the balance paid at settlement – an initiative designed to encourage saving while the homes are delivered.

Over 100 new apartments across the three projects will be available to first home buyers before launching to the broader public in 2022.

Widely regarded as one of the biggest barriers to purchasing, MAB’s decision to significantly reduce the deposit required for a new home will help first home buyers finally move from renting to owning.

MAB is a reputable Melbourne developer with over 26 years’ experience and MAB General Manager Residential, David Allt-Graham said,

“This is a great opportunity for first home buyers and provides an exclusive chance to purchase prior to the general public launch in early 2022.

“MAB understands the challenges first home buyers face entering the inner-city property market and we believe that this initiative will help people in our city purchase their first home in tightly held inner-city locations.

“What’s more, all three projects are being developed as sustainable, future-proofed homes with a minimum 7 Star NatHERS rating along with our commitment to deliver a 5 Star Green Star As-Built certification. With a focus on sustainability, and operating fully electric, we’re ensuring these future residents will have homes that are less expensive to operate and are better for the environment as we move towards a carbon-free future.
