Major fashion and lifestyle brands to open at Brand Junction

Confirming its position as the first brand outlet centre for Melbourne’s North, Brand Junction at University Hill has secured nationally and internationally renowned fashion and lifestyle labels MNG, Guess, Laura Ashley, Pacific Brands, Crabtree & Evelyn, Russell Athletic, Globalize and Sheridan, providing a unique mix of retailers never before seen in the region.

MNG brings the hottest European fashion to Australia and is internationally renowned as a leader in women’s casual wear, denim and glamorous dressing. Brand Junction was selected to have the first outlet store in Melbourne for MNG due to the growing number of professional women in the North Eastern corridor and close proximity to RMIT and LaTrobe University. The MNG store at Brand Junction will have a complete range of clothing for workdays and weekends, and will cater for women aged in their 20s to 50s.

One of the most recognisable apparel companies across the globe, GUESS has over 700 stores worldwide and has chosen the Brand Junction centre as its first outlet store for Melbourne’s North East. Guess at Brand Junction will be the largest outlet store in Australia and will include Mens, Womens and Childrens fashion, footwear and accessories.

Gearing up to open November 7, 2008, Brand Junction will offer brands marked at up to 70 percent off and house over 100 international and national brands with many not available in other shopping centres in the area. Eagerly awaited by local residents, Brand Junction offers this rapidly growing residential population a fresh and contemporary shopping alternative.

The centre will comprise of three major precincts; Fashion and Accessories, Streetwear and Sportswear and Homewares/Home Fashion.

Each of these areas will feature a mix of big name retailers. The Fashion and Accessories precinct featuring Guess and MNG will also include labels such as Lolitta, Riki Nathan, Gazman and Pelaco with accessories including Strandbags, Travelite, Sintra, Bright Eyes, and shoes by Novo, Zu, Croft, Milu, Aldo, Midas, Mollini and Florsheim.

The Sports and Streetwear precinct will be represented by names like Lorna Jane, Fila, Russell Athletic, Converse, Plunj and Globalize, whilst the Homewares precinct will include popular retail choices such as Laura Ashley, Sheridan, Pure Zone and Crabtree & Evelyn.

MAB Corporation, the developer of University Hill where Brand Junction is situated, is confident the diverse retail mix with big name brands will be a major drawcard to the shopping centre. “We are very excited to have the likes of GUESS and MNG opening stores at Brand Junction. The commitment of these brands to fashion and accessories fits perfectly with the quality of the outlet centre we are creating at University Hill,” Mark O’Connell, MAB’s General Manager, Retail said.

“As an entirely new concept in brand outlet shopping, Brand Junction will create a retail experience never before seen by residents, students and workers in the burgeoning North Eastern growth corridor, it will deliver an innovative mix of leading brands at discount prices in a new street-based Town Centre environment.”

Brand Junction is the latest stage of the University Hill Town Centre, which already comprises a Coles supermarket, Westpac, Priceline and 20 speciality stores. The next stage of the Town Centre is an Entertainment precinct, which will potentially include a range of restaurants, bars, cafes and cinema complex. University Hill’s Health and Wellbeing precinct currently includes Pelican Childcare Centre and a Medical Centre and will soon be joined by a gymnasium and other medical services.

University Hill continues to grow at rapid rate with Brand Junction set to open 7 November 2008, strong apartment and house and land sales and a highly successful business park. Once fully developed, University Hill will house a workforce of up to 3000 people, making it the major business and lifestyle hub in Melbourne’s North and providing an exciting and viable alternative to inner city urban living.
